Addison Lane Turns One | “First Birthday Cake Smash with A Splish Splash” | Murfreesboro, TN Photographer

It was a fast year…and I’m just the photographer!  I still can’t believe little Miss Addison is ONE! WOW time flies!   It doesn’t seem like that long ago when I did their Maternity Session that spawned my most beloved image ever! And now She’s a year old!!!

We had a blast this year photographing her Newborn session, 3 Month session, 6 Month session, and 9 Month session, and the Big ONE YEAR session was an all out BLAST!!!   I knew we had to do a cake smash, and Jenn found an antique wooden high chair and painted it a GORGEOUS teal color which mixed with the other colors for her party was the perfect touch and compliment!  We hung some of the pompoms Jenn, and Shelby, made outside in the edge of the field where we shot Addison’s newborn pictures the year before.  An absolutely wonderful way to end her first year pictures…where it all began!

I’d been DYING to shoot a kiddo in my old metal washtub playing in bubbles, and a brainstorm hit a few days before the session…we’ll just help clean her up after the cake smash by putting her in the bubble bath!  It could not have worked out better…nor could she have had more fun working off all that sugar rush energy 😉 by splashing around.  We all laughed hysterically as she kept splashing herself in the face and laughing about it!  Ahhh I love watching babies play in the water!

It started to rain at the end of the splish splash part of the shoot, so it was the perfect end to a perfect First Birthday shoot with a very happy, loved, and BLESSED little family!

I cannot thank Shelby, Jennifer and Addison for allowing me to be a part of this huge moment in their lives…from baby bump all the way to her first birthday!  You all aren’t just client’s, but wonderful friends for life!
