I don’t think I’ve had such a fun time on engagement shoot…ever! I adore all of my couples immensely, love getting to capture their love behind my lens, but when I have a couple who says “we’re game for whatever”…well…I’m allll in!
Brittany saw a few ideas she liked on Pinterest, one in particular, for Save the Dates, but other than that they were game for anything. I’ve known Brittany since Cleveland State Community College, and we’ve been Facebook friends for a long time so when she emailed me asking about shooting their Black Fox Farms, Cleveland, TN wedding next Fall I couldn’t say no! I love Black Fox Farms, Weddings, and sweet couples.
Once I met Andrew that sealed it…they’re absolutely perfect for each other! It’s evidently clear from the first time you see them that he ADORES her, and she’s captivated by him. Their story (as you’ll see below in one of my brain storms) is nothing short of something out of a love story! Call it fate, call it destiny, call it what you will, but if you see Brittany+Andrew together you’ll have no doubt God alone brought them together.
We had a blast on their friend’s farm, then walking around downtown Chattanooga at the River Front. The audience we gathered while creating our side walk chalk scene in the midst of a Music in the City night was unexpected as we didn’t know we’d picked that night to do our shoot. Oh well, we rocked on with our drawings anyway, and only had a couple of touch-ups from some skateboarders who decided to roll right over our finished product. Thankfully everyone else was very careful not to walk on it 🙂
We finished out evening by exploiting the amazing sunset there by the water canons, and then the beautifully lit waterfall steps. The perfect cool down for a humid Tennessee Summer eve.
I cannot wait for their wedding next September as it’s sure to be more amazing than their engagement session! Brittany+Andrew thank your for the honor to capture these memories for you! I’m looking forward to it! For now though enjoy their engagement pictures…I know I surely am!
I was praying the rain that was forecasted would go away…it went around and left us with this AMAZE-MERIZING Clouds…and you know I love clouds!

I’d seen “Story Boards” on chalkboards at receptions on Pinterest, and knew I wanted to do something similar….when I saw this barn that was it! The PERFECT backdrop!
The sky was seriously to.die.for down at the waterfront in Chattanooga!
And God kept showing out for us…the sunset was a stone cold STUNNER!!

I loved playing with the darkness! I used my flash for a few, and love them all equally!
True story: I’d wanted to make sure I got the ring shot on this tie…since Drew is a lawyer it’s absolutely PERFECT! But fighting the fading light for the different locations I’d almost forgotten it… until we were almost done with dinner at TGI Friday’s. So, in a dimly lit restaurant, lit by my iPhone4, I set this up on the back of two booths, and precariously staged the ring. Drew held the flashlight/iPhone, and I popped off a few shots. Since they both love the Atlanta Braves Drew’s cuff links were a perfect fit! I’m still in awe of how it turned out…my favorite ring shot to date! Proof positive that if you know how to work your equipment you can do just about anything! :0)
