Being invited to not only shoot a family, but to dine with them holiday style has to be one of my all time favorite gigs…especially when it’s a family like this one!
Tony is the Pastor of the local Church I attend, and he and his wonderful wife, Karen, grew up with my mother and my aunts, so I’ve known them awhile. They have 3 brilliant children, a son-in-love and a daughter-in-love, and 3 precious grandbabies! I personally am so glad God called them back to this little town, and I’m really thankful to have such a spirit filled Pastor to hear each Sunday!
I was shooting the Easter service at our church, Eastanallee Baptist, and they asked me to come shoot their Easter dinner that afternoon as all three of their kids AND their families would be there…of course!!!
Once there I was informed they’d prepared a place for me at their table, and I proceeded to get the honor to break bread on Easter Sunday with this sweet, sweet family. BTW…they are FANTASTIC cooks too! In lieu of my only family’s dinner this was a very close second 😉 Haha!
I had too much fun watching the little cousins rock on the chairs, then Joel tried to kiss Autumn, but she wasn’t having it! Love em!! It’s marvelous the funny little moments I get to capture…moments that when they look back on them in 20+ years I’m sure they’ll laugh at the image…just as we laughed at the moment. Priceless!
The rain held off just long enough for us to get pictures and started to rain while we were eating so the Easter Egg Hunt was done indoors. The 2 eldest grand-babies seemed to have a blast collecting the eggs, and playing with their Easter Basket goodies, while the little Judah napped.
I think one of my favorite moments of the day though was walking in the kitchen after the kids were done hunting eggs to see this wonderful man washing up the dishes. He’d been bragging on Karen’s cooking to me when he helped me in the house, and then to see him cleaning up…well…folks THAT’S a man, and a man who clearly absolutely adores his wife and family. That was a wonderful sight to behold in this day and time!
Thank you Tony and Karen for allowing me this precious gift of a glimpse into your life, and the example you are to us all. It was truly an honor getting to partake and capture your memories! A blessed family indeed, and I am blessed to know you! 🙂
