Julie and I played phone tag for a couple of days before we actually got to speak. She was telling me how it’d been a while since they’d had family pictures made, and her co-worker, my friend Pam, had advised her to get in touch with me.
Of course I’m always happy to meet new people, so when she and Larry, and their two ADORABLE babies, Mya and Spencer, appeared at my studio for their session I immediately fell in love! Blue eyed, blonde haired kiddos with gigantic personalities for such tiny little bodies…yeah they had me at hello! They, of course, fell head over heels in love with my enormous floor pillows, and we had a hard time tearing them away to get the party started.
We shot a few in the studio, and then with an outfit change for the wee ones we were off to walk around downtown Athens. It really is beautiful down here…you just have to look around!
The kids had a ball playing with mom and dad, and as any seasoned child photographer will probably tell you the best images you’re likely to get will be of them just being them! Trying to get Spencer to “pose” resulted in some cute crocodile tears, as well as an impromptu stick that made it into a few of his shots. Mya is a sweet little peach who loves to dance around, and just smiles for the camera all the time!
My personal favorites of the day involved mom and dad sneaking a few smooches while holding the babes…as my tag line says Extraordinary | Real | LIFE…that’s real.life. folks! AND THEN Mya decided to kiss her little brother at the same time…absolutely extraordinary, and ridiculously CUTE!
Thank you Larry and Julie for allowing me to photograph your beautiful family! It was truly my honor!
