Panama City Beach Family Portraits – The Steckleys – Florida Beach Photography

What’s better than going on vacation to the beach? Having pictures made while there! I announced earlier in the year when I’d be going to Panama City Beach, FL with a friend for vaycay, and happily offered a few sessions for families who’d be in the area while I was there. Erin emailed me immediately, and they were going to be there when I was!

I can’t believe it’s been two years since I shot Jenna’s newborn portrait session, but while they were in PCB she celebrated her 2nd birthday! They alerted me a few days before our session that Jenna was definitely NOT a fan of the sand so it was going to be hard to grab pictures of her on the beach. BUT my mind went into hyper-drive…it was her first time to the ocean, it was her birthday, somehow they HAD to have beach family pictures!

I asked them to test her out on a pier, or even a playground at the beach. Thankfully the next day they said she should be good to go with those options. So, the night of our session we headed out to Pier Park and went out on the pier. Jenna had noooo problems running on the pier. They put her down and like a shot she was running out in front of us! Sunset was all around us, and the Panama City Beach sky was alive with color…PERRRRFECT backdrop…and it only got.better!

We headed down to the beach just to see if she’d at least stand in it…maybe 2 two minutes, if that, and her hands went up in the universal baby signal for “get me”. It was ok by me though because the images I captured of mommy and daddy holding her were priceless with the sunset…

As the sun sank lower behind the horizon and clouds the colors got richer…couldn’t have asked for a better ending to this wonderful family’s session! Thank you Erin and Jason for letting me capture these precious memories!
