I received Lindsay’s email one evening, and I was immediately impressed. It wasn’t her mom, or her dad, it was her…a Senior in Highschool…emailing to inquire about shooting her Senior portraits while their family was on vacation in Gatlinburg, TN.
We set a date, and the weather turned out incredibly AMAZING! We headed up to Clingman’s Dome, and the view (I’d only seen it covered in clouds or overcast before) was…well…something you just have to see for yourself!
It spoke to me as I photographed this Senior looking out over the vast expanse of the world below us. Thus the quote on the image below was born. Such an amazing parallel to the world that awaits not just Lindsay in her last year of Highschool, but the thousands of her friends, classmates, and fellow Seniors…the opportunities are endless, and the road that lies before them is paved with amazing possibilities!
I hadn’t met her until we pulled in the parking lot so we could ride up the mountain together, but I knew right off she was a beautiful soul. She has a huge smile that would light up any darkness, and she just seems to radiate warmth and beauty from within. She’s kind, funny, and an adventurer…at least to me, because any girl who’ll climb a rock face in strappy, dressy, sandals all for the sake of a photo has to be adventurous!
We drove around Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail, and stopped at some of the old cabins just as the sun was sinking behind the trees. The resulting sun flares coupled with her lace dress, denim jacket, and boots was absolutely the PERFECT combination…definitely a tie on favorite images from the day (Mountain top looking out of course being the other).
I know big things are in store for this wonderful young lady! She loves Jesus, and working in her Church, and I pray God uses her in mighty big ways…far beyond her wildest dreams! Here’s to Lindsay, it truly was and is my honor to meet you! Happy Senior Year girly…may it be filled with fond memories to last a lifetime!
