I adore Easter and Spring Mini Sessions! Every year it’s so much fun coming up with a new design, theme, decor, and baby chicks! I try not to go “Fru fru” or “trendy” so the pictures will still be cute in 20 years…not fad we’ll look back on and go “We thought that was cute back then? What were we thinking!”…you know…like giant poufy sleeves on wedding gowns, or bangs loaded up with so much hairspray they resembled cotton candy! 😉
This year I wanted to go with a simple, classic, colorful vintage vibe! Only a Farm would do for the background…we are in the south after all! As usual I set out to get new baby chicks a few days before, and picked some CUTE baby Rhode Island Red and Golden Comet Pullets. Now, before someone says something about buying baby animals only for photos, let me assure you we raise the babies every.single.year, and they become egg laying hens for my parents…there’s nothing like farm fresh eggs grown from someone you know ya’ll! It’s a win win.
I filled my white picket wheelbarrow with Spring blooms, and the rustic wire wheelbarrow with eggs to house the bunnies! I’ve discovered over the years that 1) I’m terrifed of bunnies, but their cute factor is just too undeniable 2) the safest way children can interact with them and the bunny not try to flee is to put them in a cute basket…or sitting on plastic Easter eggs 😉 3) bunnies and chicks like each other…especially standing on the bunny’s back! ha!
Enjoy the CUTENESS party people! There’s soooo much to oooh and ahhh over! And just in case you still don’t have their Easter outfits picked out yet, there’s still time to book a session 😉 Just shoot an E-mail from the Contact Me section on www.BraskaJennea.com
